What About Dick
I went to see Eric Idle's new play "What About Dick" at its world premiere last night, at the extremely lovely Orpheum theater on Broadway (L.A.'s Broadway, not The Great White Way). I don't go to the professional theatre often, perhaps once a year, but I couldn't resist this. I mean, the cast! The chance to see Russell Brand and Tim Curry on stage together; would any bit of stage remain unchewed?

Unlocking Your Psychic Gifts: Protection
Chapter One: Protection
When one begins any journey, she must take all possible precautions she can; to protect herself from any disaster seen, unseen or probable. You go hiking in the Arizona Mountains; you should know to take several jugs of water. A few for your car, several for you and any other living creature with you; be it friends, family or your Golden Retriever, Spencer. If, like me, you grew up in Arizona, you also learn to bring along a couple of bags of Doritos. Should you dehydrate (i.e. heatstroke), in order to replace water, you need to eat something salty and dry (i.e. Saltines, too) and then drink water so you do not immediately pee it out. Basic desert survival as taught in Arizona schools when I was growing up.
Every year, tourists visit Arizona, forget the water, remember the beer, and are later found dead or near-dead on one of the hidden paths in the unforgiving Sonora Desert.
Thus, I will start with protection as I guide you on the journey of discovering and/or rediscovering your psychic and mediumistic gifts. For, like the desert, there are some basic equipment and rules for your safest adventure.
Here is what you’ll need:
- Paper
- Pencil or other writing utensil
- A comfortable place to sit, write or study.

- New Age CD or Natural Sound CD

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please know that, without protection, the worst case scenario, in psychic work will be headaches, emotional imbalance and minor physical discomfort.
As long as you’re reading this book, seeking to better and enhance your life, you will not, cannot be possessed by dis-incarnate entities or spirits or ghosts. Those are the machinations of movies, drug addicts, the mentally ill and religious groups trying to keep you away from learning more in this New Age.
The only other danger will be the messages you receive in readings. Without some sort of protection technique, for clear and highest level messages, you may see and attract negative and lower energy messages. They make everyone depressed or drained.
Thus, take a few minutes and do one or both of these techniques.
The White Light Technique
This is probably the most widely known one and the fastest way to protect oneself before any sort of spiritual endeavors.
Go to that comfortable place, light your incense; sage is excellent for this. Any incense which resonates for you will do. You can light a candle or several. In this case white candles are the best. Shut out or off all distractions (cell phones, television set), play a natural sounds or music only CD. Go sit in a comfortable position.
Close your eyes.
Imagine a pure white brilliant light emanating from above – the highest realm. Some call it Heaven or the Universe, God, Source or Creator; as long as you know, imagine and feel it as the highest, most positive source of illumination.
See this white light of the highest realm wash down into the top of your head and light up your internal organs, bloodstream and surround your entire body head to toe. Then you are filled with this all loving, unconditionally loving white light emanating around you and throughout you, like a force field of positive loving highest energy; and this light will be with you throughout your endeavors. You are truly psychically protected and will now attract only positive energies.
You can also do this quickly by saying “white light” and seeing (in your mind’s eye), the light washing over you.
I often use it when I am walking alone and/or feel uncomfortable. It comforts me to know I am surrounded by the highest good, attracting only higher level energies. At times, when I’ve felt extremely unsafe, I will say, “White light surrounds me, God is with me!”
The Velvet Curtain of Protection
This is another one that I utilize and is excellent when you feel unsafe. Whether you feel the danger is

from lower level energies or actual living human beings who may wish to do harm. This is excellent after doing the White Light Technique as it provides a stronger, impenetrable force field around your positive light.
This is also a very important technique to use when you are opening up your psychic and medium gifts. Many strange things will and usually happen and the Velvet Curtain of Protection will help you keep this under some control. You will be happy I shared this with you!
This can be done in a relaxed way, similar to The White Light Technique, or you can do this the minute you feel in danger or uncomfortable. You can bring it from above or imagine your angels or guides draping a purple or black velvet curtain around you. Some see as a hooded cloak and others see like a beautiful shower curtain of velvet. It must shield your entire body, head to toe, and just carry it with you. It is the purple or black velvet curtain of invisibility. Strangers and lower energy entities cannot see you underneath this force field of safety, thus, will not see you [as a victim to their crime].
WARNINGS
This is what you should expect as you begin opening up to your psychic gifts.
You will attract many things that will be positive, wonderful and good and, as you learn more, things that could be uncomfortable or negative.
Oftentimes, it will only be uncomfortable or negative because it is unknown or has been forgotten. Early in your life you had gifts, we all are born with them, and along the way we are told they are bad, evil or dangerous.
You will begin to see things, or hear things or dream things that, due to them being new or different, may frighten or overwhelm you.
The only other thing I will warn against.
If the visions, voices or feelings are extremely negative [i.e. calling you nasty names or visions of horrible accidents to you or your loved one’s], or give you an urge/feeling to harm yourself or others – you must stop immediately.
Those can be signs of either — lower negative entities and you didn’t do any protection, or a sign of a mental or medical illness. If the negativity persists, you must see a mental or medical health professional, or both.
I must include this warning as I had a friend, not my student, who started out getting some positive visions. Then, when they did not come to pass, as she had envisioned, or in the time she envisioned them . . . she became very angry and agitated. The friend accused the person in the future vision (a living person) of torturing her, teasing her and leading her on. Eventually, my friend felt this person, whom she was not personally acquainted with, owed her an apology and a relationship. She became paranoid, delusional and had to be hospitalized; and everything became very negative in her mind.
Thus, any sort of extremely negative emotions, particularly toward yourself [the friend would also become suicidal] or others – especially one’s that weren’t there before – must be addressed with someone in the mental/medical health area’s.

Religious Zealots
Many organized religions will label certain gifts as evil and offer you an express ticket to Hell. As much as they preach “judge not”, zealots continue to judge, based on their interpretation, of your ability to be with Source.
Let me remind you, regarding religious groups that are closed to gifts from God [which is what they are] and label it as the work of Satan or demons. THIS IS NO SUCH THING AS DEMONS OR SATAN! Yes, Hitler came close to being Satan Incarnate, nevertheless, he was merely a very, very dark lower energy.
Anyone, like you, or me, who seek to grow, teach, guide and help and heal others and ourselves are “of the light”. We are not dark or even gray entities. We are one with Source.
Dark entities dissipate upon physical death and do not keep their soul identity [which, in a way is Hell], or are born immediately to situations they do not choose [which is truly Hell]. Us, of the light, keep our soul consciousness upon physical death, and once we return to the Other Side we can choose to guide others [still in physical life], learn new trades by the Masters or choose to come into physical life again and choose that life.
Also, as you expand, your energy shines! This sends a beacon which attracts religious groups to try to recruit you, or “save you”. I have personally seen wonderful, gifted souls close off their beautiful mind and gifts and become involved with these religions. They start to separate from friends and family, who do not want to follow the very fundamental beliefs. I have seen these happy, expanding souls become closed, afraid and judgmental just because of the recruitment.
Luckily, today, as more and more of us are opening to our psychic and healing gifts we have churches that accept and even nurture our expansion! Unity Church is one and even in rural Lancaster, Pennsylvania, I had the pleasure to attend The Metaphysical Church. In Los Angeles there’s Agape’; which, I hear is wonderful. Sylvia Browne’s Novus Spiritus is another. Many of these churches include healers and psychics as members!
Remember, your gifts are powerful and psychic vampires (i.e. zealots) feel that to possess you and your gifts helps them gain power. This is why you must be aware of who you speak to of your gifts and beliefs.
Psycho’s
This can be hand in hand with zealots. Yet, if you are not protecting yourself properly, or if you open up at the wrong place and time (crowded streets), without focus . . . you, again, send out a beacon to all who see such things. Psycho’s see these beacons and will come at you or to you.
Ghosts and Visions
As your gifts expand, shadows or sightings of lights, people, angels can come into you awareness.
During the second or third class I ever taught, one of my students saw a cat run by. I do not have cats nor any pets. There were no pets in the meeting place.
Later, we discovered that the previous tenant had a cat or two die in the apartment where we had the class. My student’s gifts were expanding and she, for the first time, was physically seeing a spirit!
Your dreams will become more psychic or include visions and premonitions. Depending on your stronger gifts, you can feel, hear or have visions of things or voices other’s, in the very same room, will not see, feel or hear.
Have no fear, as long as you’ve been doing protection techniques. If you are not ready to see, hear or feel something, you can ask for it to come another way. Nevertheless, I encourage you to explore these signs.
Saving Your Soul
This really goes with the religious zealots. Your soul is of the light. You are safe. You are saved. You came into this life in the light, of the light.

Lost Memories: Help Me Find My Camera’s [Lost on AmTrak NYC Train #672]
On Saturday, June 9, 2012 in Harrisburg, PA, I boarded the Amtrak #672 Train to New York City/Penn Station.
I had too much luggage (as usual), which included my black camera bag with both my camcorder and my 35mm camera.
On the Everio camcorder I have video’s from 2011 to June 8th, 2012. That was the high school graduation of my adopted niece from Hughesville High School — including the footage of the American Sign Language Interpreter for her deaf father. Certainly memories we cannot replace.
The Everio camcorder also had the wedding of John Sowle and Steven Patterson in Hudson, NY. I was the only videographer. These are also not replaceable.
My 35mm is a Pentax SLR X, digital and it is bright red in color. Photos from the high school graduation and other photos — which I can identify — when it is found.
What happened? Too much luggage and I had place my backpack (with my computer) and the camera bag stuffed under the seat. I was in about the third to fifth car from the front. I was at the end of the train — where there are four seats facing each other — and above me, the overhead bin. In the overhead bin there was an unmarked cardboard box and a yellow step stool upside down. On one occasion a staff member of Amtrak pulled something out of the cardboard box.
Beside the cardboard box, I put my clothes bag and luggage rack thing. Anyway, when we arrived in New York (8:30pm), I grabbed everything — I thought — and pulling out my backpack probably pushed the camera bag deep under the seat (against the wall).

About two hours later — because I was so tired — I realized I had left the most important part of my luggage, my camera bag and cameras! Immediately called Amtrak and a lost report was written up. The good news was that the train — from NYC — had gone straight to the yard. The cleaning crew, at that time, had not found it.
My bag has the gray and black — completely different design, though. And is sort of similar to these two illustrated bags together.

So far, as of today Monday, June 11th at 9:00am it still has not been located. My feeling is either 1) it is stuffed so deep under the seat and the cleaning crew did not bend down to find it; 2) a staff member found it and put it somewhere besides lost and found [either too busy to get it there or kept it] or 3) a passenger found it and kept it and 4) someone who found it hasn’t had time to turn it in.
My hope is someone will be honest and kind enough to realize the memories on those photos and videos are NOT replaceable and do the right thing . . . return my cameras! Also in the bag was the power plug for the camcorder.
